How this organization has handled on-going injuries in the past few years has been a colossal failure.
Perhaps they’re learning.

Yeah I don't understand why they would wait until after the deadline to shut down Monahan. Or, really, after trading Bennett, but that's a whole other thing.
A lot of the stuff around Monahan's injury status over the past year or so seems really strange.

This has got to he major enough to warrant a presser. Like career altering levels. And no, we don't need the "good riddance" bs from the haters or some crap jokes about it okay.

Why would Tre call a presser for that tho, seems like overkill

I really hope it's not that serious but I imagine Monnys done for the season at least

Can't imagine its anything besides season or career ending IR. Mony sneaking into IR earlier likely means its not a contract extension surprise presser

Hope all is well for Monahan. Unfortunate timing for the team but hoping all the best for the player. I don’t see how he is not bought out this summer unless we are losing a combination of Johnny/Chucky/Mangi next summer. Going to be really tough to trade that deal to free up cap space

Wouldn't they place him on LTIR right away instead of IR in that case? I mean they could max out the cap space if the recalled someone to get close to the cap, but you don't need that because the deadline has passed.

Mony is made of glass at this point. Poor guy has been riddled with various injuries for a few seasons now. Hopefully he doesn't need another surgery.

If Monahan is still injured during the offseason, it would mean a buyout wouldn't be possible unless the player waives a medical exemption for the buyout.
The CBA protects injured players from being bought out.

Serevalli also openly talked about how teams would be/are interested in him. We wouldn’t have to buy him out.
I hope he’s okay in the end though and his career isn’t in jeopardy.

The Flames had an April fools presser planned about moving to Houston and messed up the date?

Teams could change their minds if he has yet another big injury.

Other hip. No buy out ability I think in the offseason.

Monahan moved to LTIR would allow for us to bring up any one from Stockton though correct.
I hope the guy is going to be okay physically long term.
