Could've called Nichuskin panning out long term.

Letting the Avs scoop him up while he was in the bargain bin was a mistake by the other GMs in the west.

Been thinking this for a bit, but Vladar needs more starts. Need Markstrom 100% for the playoffs. Would like to see Vladar play 1/3 of the way to go.

Seriously? We played a good game. We out shot them. I thought we played a very solid game. We can beat them in a 7 game playoff.

Meh. It was a tough, defensive battle. Pretty even but the Avs locked it down after the dive PP goal. Sutter will use this as a lesson.

Once they clinch I'm sure he will get more starts.

Because he is a troll. If there was a dislike button he would have been voted off this site after a week of his off topic posts.

You must be watching a different Flames team than the rest of us. Markstrom is equal to if not better than Kuemper. Our top line is as good as any other line in the league. We have Lindholm who is most likely a Selke finalist.

Now I could on but why bother. HF Avs would welcome you with welcome arms .

Nope, I said they were a top 3 Pacific team and it seemed obvious. 2-1 loss means the Flames would be ####ed in round 3 of the playoffs seems like pretty ridiculous.

Flames have beat the healthy Avs on the road

I wasn't. I didn't think they would be one of the best teams in the west but I knew last year was just a bad short season and they would rebound.

I didn't think the team played as focused or as heavy a game as they often play. Which actually gives me hope for the playoffs in that they have a lot of room to go upwards.
Pretty good game from Monahan there on his return.

They're usually pretty on about names - they check with both club and players so it's likely that's how he actually wants it pronounced.

That looked to me like 2 elite teams both trying to win 1-0. Tight backchecking, not much space, physicality in the corners. It's gotta be a hell of an adjustment going from Edmonton rolling out the red carpet defensively to a high-end playoff team that knows how to backcheck.

I wouldn't call us a favourite by any means, but in a series against them it's probably like 55-45 Colorado. Just need to steal 1 game and we can beat them.

Doom??? Nope. I think many here were optomistic to see what Sutter could do with this team given a full year behind the bench. When he came in late last year you could see the positive changes he was making with this club,
