The Hurricanes beat the Blues 7-2 in St. Louis. Necas with an early 1st period SHG to get Carolina going. The Hurricanes took control of the game in the 2nd period and scored 2 ENGs in the 3rd period. The win keeps Carolina just 1 point behind the Panthers for 1st place in the eastern conf. What is going on with the Blues? They are slumping, 3-4-3 in the past 10 games and are now just 4 points up on the 9th place Stars.
The Panthers were able to get 2 points, but in the SO because of great goaltending by Forsberg. He faced 49 shots as the Senators were the inferior team, they only fired 22 shots. The Sens were 0/4 on the PP including a PP in OT.
Fleury gets his 1st win with the Wild as they won 3-2 in OT. He made 23 saves.
The Kings win 4-2 over the Kraken and are now 6 points up on the 9th place Stars and remain 7 points back of the Flames. The Kraken will get another chance to beat the Kings on Monday. A quirk in the schedule with both games in Los Angeles.
Jake Allen stole a win from the Leafs. He made 49 saves in the Habs 4-2 win with half of them in the 3rd period. The Leafs owned the 3rd period, the shots were 24-3!
The Ducks suck as they lost again, 4-1 to the Sharks. Timo Meier with the hat trick. The Ducks started their rookie 3rd stringer, Lukas Dostal.
