Just playing around with line combos - Lewis isn't working on Backlund's line, and I am not keen on Lucic and Monahan together.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Monahan - Toffoli
Dube - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Jarnkrok - Lewis

I would switch Dube and Jarnkrok, I liked Dube and looch together.

To me Dube showed well as the Center between Lucic and Lewis and Monahan would benefit from having a righty on his right side used to taking draws much like Lindy when he first came.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Coleman - Backlund - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Monahan - Jarnkrok
Lucic - Dube - Lewis

That’s what I’d like to see personally!

Not going tonight.
The Flames always seem to lose when I go, so this should be helpful.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Monahan - Toffoli
Coleman - Backlund - Jarnkrok
Lucic - Dube - Lewis

Three really good lines, and a 4th line as good as any other 4th line we ice

The Flames always lose when I attend also—100% of the time. That one game that I have been to at Rogers Place since moving out to BC? They lost.

I feel like Sutter's tried a few times to give Dube a shot at holding the center spot, but he hasn't been able to rise up among Ruzicka and others to separate himself. Sutter's comments when talking about the Jarnkrok trade also suggests that nobody has really stepped up. Sutter's been mashing up the lines recently to try and keep the players fresh, but once he feels he can again, I think he'll want to get the players time together before the playoffs to get used to their linemates.

The lines when the Flames were the most successful, in the middle of their streak, is what I think Sutter goes back to, but with Jarnkrok replacing Ruzicka now, it would be:

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Dube-Jarnkrok-Toffoli
Lucic-Monahan-Lewis

I think Sutter loves this lineup EXCEPT Dube. I feel like he might be a little disappointed that the guy hasn't answered the bell this year when given the shots he's been given.

Jarnkrok - Monahan - Toffoli
Lucic - Dube - Lewis

I’d like to see that lineup. Get the Backlund line going again and see if You can get a spark out of Monahan with two good linemates.

Some combination of Ian White, James Black, and Dale DeGray.

Or at any rate, something about that colourful.

I like that even when the team is doing well, Sutter isn't afraid to mix things up.

I still have nightmares of Gully ONLY rolling out Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm, 3M line, the constant bump-back PP zone entry, and the mandatory D-to-D pass before starting a breakout. Whether we were winning or not, Gully made the team so predictable that even a simpleton hockey fan like me could predict what was happening next.

So glad those days are over.

Just checked the OOT scoreboard.
Flames could go a long way towards burying the Canucks tonight.

Whoa! Top line being broken up.

Johnny-Lindy-Toffoli
Dube-Backlund-Chucky
Eatbread-Jarnkrok-Coleman
Richardson-Monahan-Lewis

Lucic injured during warmup, out for this game
