I disagree. The team is gassed, they have already all but sewn up the Division, and have also beaten the Avalanche in their own rink. This is about as meaningless a game as there is in the regular season.

I can see Richardson and Ritchie coming in for this one, and Kylington being good to go. Wouldn't mind the fresh bodies.

What the hell is this?

Sean Monahans helmet is extremely loose and comes off with any contact. It happened multiple times in our last playoffs. Of course he has to skate off the ice when it happens putting us down a man until he gets there.

Its ridiculous.

Nothing like making up a scenario in a pregame thread that has nothing to do with the game ahead and about something that hasn’t happened all year, so there can be an extra complaint about a whipping boy player, aside from the usual litany.

Anyway, Monahan’s visor is way off and doesn’t do anything, but his actual helmet? Never saw it come off even in the POs.

Your magniloquence and orotundity are evoking much admiration.

From the Gordon Bombay playbook?

Well then you aren't watching or remembering or both.

I'm in Denver, heading to the game tonight. I hope they dig deep and get the two points!

5 THINGS - FLAMES @ AVALANCHE

The Flames return to the Mile High City for another tilt with the West-leading Avs

The Avs, meanwhile should be an ornery bunch. They have had a few days to sit and stew about a 2-0 loss to the Hurricanes in Raleigh.
To make matters worse, they announced Sunday that captain and leading goal scorer Gabriel Landeskog is out indefinitely, slated for knee surgery Monday.
Defenceman Sam Girard is also sidelined for four weeks.
Ethan Bear scored the opener with a long-distance shot Thursday that beat Darcy Kuemper five-hole and Sebastian Aho iced it with a late empty-netter.
Colorado has now lost four of their last five but still sit atop the Western Conference (ahead of the second-place Flames) with a 41-13-5 record and a 23-3-3 mark at Ball Arena.

Stone seems like a great guy. Glad he’s getting some games in.

Based on Suttrrs comments I’m guessing Stone remains in. Wonder if any changes to the 4th line. Points here is gravy.

Sounds like it’s going to be Markstrom again tonight based on Sutter’s comments. Not really surprising I guess.

Stone is 4 away from 500 games in the NHL. Playing today will get him 3 away. I’m sure he wants a chance to get that milestone this season.
