This feels like another trap game like Vancouver and Montreal, especially coming off that huge win against Colorado. We already know the Oilers are going to be coming out firing, they always treat these games like their own Stanley Cup. Would be nice to see the Flames do the same

I expect the Oiler goalie to play like an all star, lots of diving, no expectations the score will turn out the way I hope, but man to beat the Oilers at the Dome would be nice.

Definitely a lot of diving. Hyman and McSourpuss are putting on their big boy swim trunks for tonight.

Yesterday was a nightmare for the Oilers' playoff chances as Vegas, LA, Dallas, and Anaheim won. To say that Edmonton needs a win tonight is an understatement. Having lost the Oilers twice this season, the Flames have ample motivation to crush the Oilers' dreams. It should be a classic; hopefully a classic blowout!

If the Flams don't give space to the McDingus twits, they'll be ok. They just seem to give them too much ice out there. Especially on their Pp's.

The Flames are the one team who's had the misfortune of getting two competent games against them by Oilers goaltenders. So hopefully there is a bit of a normalization where the Flames get a good performance from Markstrom, and the Oilers get a typical one from Koskinen. Should that happen the Flames win. But if the inverse occurs again, the Oilers have a far better chance.

This is the one game I just really, really want the Flames to crush the Oilers. Obviously you want the Flames to win every game against the Oilers, but a big, embarrassing loss right now to get them to 2 wins in their last 8 games, after losing to Montreal and Chicago, would be such a massive blow to their playoff aspirations.

The last two have been a lot about special teams: 4/7 for the Oilers, and 2/6 for Calgary. Correct that, and the Flames should win.

Interesting.
Mangiapane-Ruzicka-Toffoli is intriguing with offensive minutes.
I don't hate Lewis with Coleman and Backlund if the idea is to bury that line with tough, defensive minutes.
Dube-Monahan-Lucic have 62.0% xGF% when they've been together, so that seems to work, and would be good as a "4th line".

Yeah, Lewis is up there among the best defensive forwards on the team. Huge opportunity for Ruzicka. He has to be able to distribute the puck to those two shooters. Monahan's line is all in the doghouse IMO. Dube benched, Lucic sub par performances since Xmas and Monahan not producing despite chances. But they did do Ok in a short stint together earlier.
