Certainly some things to clean up there but I think there's going to be an us-against-the-world lesson coming out of this one which hopefully will make the team even stronger.
You need moments like this to get the team to rally and bond together.

Really good lesson for when we play meaningful hockey.

Top line looked frustrated late in the first when they didn't get calls on some infractions, specifically Johnny. Every time he gets mad he fizzles out. Good lesson for him too. Keep your wits about you, and tear them up the next shift.

The Penguins had an equally bad blowout by an equally bad team. Forget about it and move on.

And if I didn't know better it felt like the refs were trying to make a "hold my beer" moment in the third out of an already badly called game.

So the guy who was #### talking over the PA system was Chase Claypool.

The only rivalry the Canucks will be getting into is with the sand trap.

He’s got a dumb name, just like Jake Brenk.

Skate blade, Dube getting high sticked and bleeding but then getting the penalty, Vladar's pad,

Dark comedy out there

End of the days it's the same as losing 1-0 in the standings

Worst officiated game I’ve seen in a very long time. That being said, the Flames just weren’t sharp at all, and all the penalties clearly caused them to get frustrated and it just snowballed after that.

Burn the tape and move on.

Flames have had nights where everything went right. This night everything went wrong. Winning streaks are hard to keep up, so now the Flames can focus and get back to their game.

With that said the NHL continues to have a significant issue with reffing. I'm unsure if it's ego's or incompetance, but you get these games that are just completely lop sided in what's allowed. This is a strange game as I don't think it determined the outcome, but I think it made it much more lopsided than it would have been if called more appropriately.

Call the game fairly. I say that way too much in this league. Hate, hate this one-sided crap reffing.

Bound to lose eventually. Just wish it was a fair loss. On to beat the Wild.

Jake Brenk was drafted by the Oilers = NG

(7 selections before Mike Smith as it turns out)

Looking forward to Sutter’s presser.

We get called for 7 penalties and the one PP we get they score a shorty. Just one of those nights.

One of the sad things about the refs being "anonymous" now. Worst thing they ever did was take the names off.

Kinda funny old story: I was about 12 (early-1960s) at a game in Maple Leaf Gardens - yup...when it was still a hockey shrine - and some fan near us kept yelling "Ashley - you're a bum!" all game long...loudly and frequently, and likely semi-drunkenly. And, of course, John Ashely's name was on the ref jersey.

I'll bet that of the people in the arena or watching the game, less than 5% knew who the refs were tonight (or any other).

100% was.

Game turned on a dime just when the Flames were turning the heat up at even strength (and should've been up a man as a result).

Momentum is a thing.
