He will have missed 6 games by the time the NHL rules on his appeal.

What if it was Mike Smith and an Oilers fan?

It is still a puck for a kid, has no impact on the game and really makes for a better fan experience. I remember when I was given a puck as a child and how it made me glow for weeks after. Eventually the puck found its way into a pile of other pucks but for the longest time it felt like magic, knowing that puck was played with by Pavel Bure. It is a bit different when it is for a teenager or an adult begging for a puck or a stick, but this seemed like a harmless interaction.

Who really cares if a kid who cheers for the Oilers gets a puck?

Bettman upholds the 6 game suspension. Marchand can now appeal to an independent arbitrator.

I hear you, but I'm not shedding any tears for a kid sitting front row.

We once went to a Flames practice at Max Bell and Gary Roberts tossed me a puck that MacInnis had just slapped...there was a little chip out of the puck!

Marchand testified in his hearing that the comment Jarry made that set him off was “How about that f—king save?”
Hilarious that's what Jarry said to make him throw a hissy fit given this was his response earlier when Panarin was mad at him:
Quote:
“I said that no one in Russia likes him,” Marchand admitted. “So, if that is now what is setting guys over the edge, then this is the softest league in the world and nobody should be allowed to say anything because there’s a lot worse things said out there than that. So, [if] that’s what he’s crying about, then it is what it is.”

After reading the full ruling, I have zero sympathy for Marchand, whatsoever. He had proven again that he is a complete d-bag. He is arguably Boston’s best player. This is not leadership. I hope next time they suspend him for 20 games.

If something like that sets Marchand over the edge, he might be a psychopath.
