Figures the one time we get a team on the second night of a back to back instead of it going the Oilers way, the no-goods don't even make Vegas break a sweat.

The Flames could have 9 of the 10 top scoring forwards on the top 3 lines, 4 Norris trophy winning Dmen, and Sutter would still be preaching structure and discipline. He's a beauty!

Sloppy skill vs Structured skill.
Nice dig at the Oilers.

We were "gifted" (I think it was punishment for something, actually) tickets to the game last night, and I was thinking this the whole way through. Playing their backup goaltender, and not looking dangerous for the entire evening. Giving up a short-handed 2 on 0... And continuing to blame a goal-tender who's 90 years old, coming off a very fragmented season with very limited playing time, and not scoring a single goal with their much vaunted offence.
Plus I couldn't even have a beer while watching that drivel!

Good way to save 5.1 million for Eichel room. (9.5 million total).

Tonight, the Golden Knights did not look like a team that can simply afford to sit a PPG player for the rest of the season. They may be leading the division at the moment, but they're only five points ahead of the second wild card. This is no time to get complacent and assume that the playoffs are a certainty.
Moneypuck has Vegas with an 86.4% chance of making the playoffs. Without Stone, those chances go down significantly.
All this, of course, leaves aside the fact that you can't just declare a player off your cap for the season if he is fit to play.

Sure, except you might want to check what has been happening, I totally called it. Stone will be going on LTIR until the playoffs. This is why Vegas never worried about the cap space, remember when their GM said injuries happen? Do you think the NHL is really going to argue against a doctor paid by the Golden Knights to say Stone can't play? Their new darling franchise? Not happening. I am sure Stone does have a nagging back injury to some extent. Could he go if it was crunch time or playoff game, I am sure he could. If you are Vegas why not give him the rest of the season to take extra time while adding a player that will produce at least as good and then add Stone back come playoffs without losing a Reilly Smith or a Karlsson? They know the can totally get away with it.

There's been a rumour from an unidentified source. Stone isn't on LTIR at this moment and no reputable source has said he's out for long enough to qualify. At this point, you're just feeding your own confirmation bias by hearing what you want to hear.
