The perfect scenario would be a minor injury in the middle six on the wing so they recall Pelletier.
Pelletier looks really good, so they go with him once the healthy forward comes back and they never look back.
That way the kid isn't recalled to replace a healthy vet so there's less pressure etc.

Pitlick is a bit injury prone. And obviously Monahan has had many injuries - they just never keep him out.

I really do not hate having more beef in the bottom 6. Like I said if Sutter can find a role for him maybe he can get back to that Boston production which would be huge for our bottom 6

Can't say I watched enough of him to verify, but I found this comment on Reddit about Nick Ritchie quite amusing (language is maybe a bit NSFW).

Loved this bit:

Nick Ritchie is a bigger contributor to the decline in cardiovascular health in Boston fans than smoking and obesity.

Could be a Richardson upgrade, who can then be the #5C (or #4C if they swap Dubé or Monahan to the wing).
Definitely would not want him to be claimed at full freight, needs to be a contract going the other way with some salary retained.

I've always liked Nick Ritchie-I was a fan in his draft year. I would like to pick him up, as he's more capable offensively than Pitlick or Richardson, but boy-we would have to have faith in Sutter to kick his arse in gear, cuz every game I saw him play with the Leafs, he was dog crap. No motivation, looked lost and slow. If he could get back to where he was a few years ago, he'd be a great fit. He's also one of the toughest guys in the league-he rarely, if ever, loses a scrap.

2.5M makes it unlikely he gets claimed. If he had a 1-1.5M salary I'd be in favor but not at 2.5

He cleared. Exhale. But take a deep breath because now he could be traded for.

Agreed, we should include Brett in a package for William Nylander.

If the Leafs want to retain $500k a Pitlick for Ritchie trade could make sense...
Both guys that just haven't fit on new teams. Personally I think I might actually still rather have Pitlick just because I still think he could be useful in the bottom 6 and his injuries and the COVID break just haven't worked.

I seem to remember Burke talking about him in his draft year as a potential target to draft. Tough, truculent, grumble, sandpaper, grumble, truculent something something was his read.

I don’t even want one Ritchie on this team. Two would really make me question how serious this team is about improving itself.

He cleared of course. I’d bet there is a trade but only if they retain whatever amount is unburiable.
