Sounds like voodoo.

I’ll get my video card on it.

They made the mistake of minting multiples of each. What's the point of buying one if 199 other people also get to own it (to say nothing of the other 9 billion who can just copy any objective value it has anyway).

The only world in which NFTs make sense to me is in collectible gaming. Something like Magic the Gathering in the form of NFTs could do pretty well, I reckon.

A massive amount of wealth is sitting in cryptocurrency. Like regular art, used as a store of wealth, NTFs are being purchased for a) tax evasion b) money laundering c) global funds transfers d) speculation d) trinket spending by the rich and e) illogical financial choices.

May I present you Axie Infinity, who’s token is worth $100US (was $160 a month ago). Players spend thousands to tens of thousands on their “deck of cards”.

The biggest thing in the way of NFTs' growth in coming years is that they are inherently worthless. They offer you ‘property’ rights in something that anyone can copy freely and legally.

As a writer, I control my copyrights, and I can sue if they are infringed. To the best of my understanding, NFTs do not come with control of copyright and there is no legal action the owners can take to protect their so-called property against infringement.

Yes, I believe buying an NFT just gives you ability to officially "own" the NFT; there is no intellectual property or ability to collect royalties included.

So basically it is just to say that you "own" it, and the only value is if someone else wants to "own" it and is willing to pay for it. I understand that it may also include rights to receive "added value" in the future but I can't see what that would entail... another NFT? Another picture I can look at?

I personally don't see the appeal.

Certainly haven't gone 'all in' NFT's, but I do like the concept to a degree. My logic is this, I made a real good chunk of profit (convereted back into precious BTC) using SHIB/DOGE as a trading coin pair.

Shiba Inu and Dogecoin are meme coin crypto assets. DOGE in particula has zero value nor any use case, SHIB is close behind that (popular due to DOGE) though they have created some level of utility. Point is, I made money off of something as ridiculous as this.

It's the pure balance of human greed/fear etc. I like to think I have less of both compared to the typical person, but have some of course since I'm human. I like to benefit off the fear and greed of others

Here are the four ways to earn a Flames Fire Box:

1. Purchase all six Commemorative Coins. This earns you a Fire Box that contains at least 1 Very Rare Puck.

2. Purchase all three 8 Bit Harveys. This earns you a Fire Box with three random Calgary Pucks.

3. Purchase all five Game Time pieces. This earns you a Fire Box that contains at least 1 Rare Puck.

4. Purchase at least one NFT from each of the three collections. This earns you a Fire Box with three random Calgary Pucks.

The Calgary Flames are getting involved in Loot Crates...
So that's where OilStain, Stang, and Weitz are...

Ah...so those who get in early and can make their money, while the laggards will probably lose most of their investment. Essentially, it's a pyramid scheme?

Some days I wake up and think to myself that the world cannot possibly get any dumber....and then I read this. I just did the math, and if the Flames sell every NFT at what they have listed, they will make just shy of $87,000. Let that sink in, $87,000! For a spinning digital coin that most computer programmers could create in a couple minutes. Am I missing something or is this a complete scam?

$87k is chump change; according to this article, there is about $500M in value in the NBA's Top Shot (NFT) program alone.

https://www.sportico.com/business/te...es-1234634072/

Of course, that's only 25% compared to its peak in the spring of 2021 (when it was almost $2B). I wonder how much money people lost if they bought at the top.

The old adage still stands: something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, whether it's a precious metal, and signed jersey, or digital highlight of Steph Curry shooting a basketball

A few interesting links in regards to NFT/Blockchain:

1. Bank of Canada appears to be considering a digital Loonie via Blockchain. This article came out this morning.

https://financialpost.com/fp-finance...ay-it-directly

2.The Seattle Kraken will also be launching their series of NFTs; this will occur on December 20. In the link, under the FAQ, there is an explanation of what NFTs are, buy/sell/trade process, impact to the environment, etc.; lots of good information.

https://orangecomet.com/kraken/

3.Matthew Tkachuk's NFT sold for $27,954 back in April 2021

4.Insight on the NHL and NFT:

5.Not NFT related, but it's related to Tom Brady/Bitcoin/Blockchain:

6. Most expensive NFT sold in 2021:

7.Most expensive Sport's EFT:

Overall, Blockchain is a powerful platform and has/will eventually touch all our lives, one way or another. This platform appears it is here to stay and it will be a common word especially with the younger generation that are growing up that will become our future leaders. A fast growing job market will require skill sets of incorporating blockchain with a wider applicability to everyone.

In regards to NFTs, this is for some people and not others. Some will see it as a waste of time and others will see it as art, as an investment. In the end, it is good to be knowledgeable/educate ourselves and not be left in the dark no matter how old we are, regardless of the differences of our views. Good to see so many different views!
