I suggest you try adjusting the rollers on the bottom of the sliding door first.
Already done, screen repair guy took off both doors, fitted new rollers on them and greased the tracks on the frame. He showed me where the frame is visibly warped though and there's nothing that can be done to fix it other than a rip & replace

Your $2k cost seems low, was that just for a single sliding door? Mine looks like this with 2 sliding doors, just with all-glass instead of the checkerboard.

If those windows are in your upstairs (where you're saying it's 16.5º), it could also just be a temperature issue which will solve itself if you get the upstairs warmer. Basically, if the dew point of the air inside a room is above the surface temperature of the window, then you'll get condensation on the cold surface.

But if your room is warmer, that will warm the inside surface of the window slightly, which might be enough to raise it above the dew point. Just an example using a constant moisture level:

16º room temperature and 52% humidity = 6º dew point. So if the window surface temperature is 5º, you'll get condensation.

21º room temperature and 38% humidity = 6º dew point (same amount of moisture as the prior example). But because your room is 5º warmer, the window surface temperature is likely several degrees warmer, pushing it above the dew point and preventing condensation.

If ALL your vents are wide open in the house it’s simple. The hot air takes the path of least resistance which means the majority of your heat goes to the nearest vents… which are located closest to your furnace. Upstairs has more back pressure due to the total effective distance and so you don’t get anywhere near as much air flow up there. So you need to substantially close most main floor vents to force the hot air upstairs when the furnace is running.

Yeah yours is going to cost way more. Mine was just a basic single slider unit.
