The thought of having to go through Vegas and then Colorado to get out of the west.

Backup goalie in and Aho out. Nice to see the Canucks finally benefit from a back to back situation.

Good that the canucks have started winning a bit. Don’t need them drafting a generational player.

It really is the best scenario, because they were heading to a bottom 5 finish. Hopefully they finish around 11th or 12th last with a meh pick.

Now that the Ducks are ahead of the Flames in the standings, maybe they will start winning again. They seem to only play good when they have something to chase.

He was coasting for 15 feet ...... we should just have speed limits 9n the dame when average players skate 30kms and top players can skate 40+ this will happen.

#### your soap box.

He was a half a foot or a full foot off the ice?. He was maybe 2 inches off the ice after contact.

I do love big hits, shoulder to shoulder or shoulder to chest, knock a guy on his butt and both players get up and keep playing.

But it's pretty obvious when guys are getting knocked out cold and being carried off on stretchers that eventually the league will have to do something. If it continues to happen, players are having their brains turned to mush and potentially the threat of law suits from former players that I'm not even wondering anymore if the league will do something about head shots or high hits with heads snapping back. It's just a matter of what they will do, and when.

People die in avalanches from skiing. People break bones skateboarding. NFL players get their foot twisted 180 degrees around and a million other things. F1 drivers run into the wall at a hundred miles an hour and their cars light on fire. Surfers drown. Why is it surprising that some sports are more dangerous than others inherently? People who play hockey professionally are perfectly aware that they can get blown up and they're prepared to accept that risk. Jiri's philosophy of "people should be allowed to voluntarily engage in an activity that might cause injury" is bull####. There's a reason we don't just ride groomers when we go to Banff.

In terms of increasing safety without making the game less physical, I recall a few years ago a discussion about shoulder pads - comparing the current style to that of years past, which was smaller, softer and a bit less like getting hit by a Denali. That might be a reasonable route to go.

When did I state this as my philosophy?
Don't assign words to me that I didn't say please.

That means not only did he hit him when launching, but probably at the action's most forceful point. If you jump into someone but hit them at the top of the jump, your momentum is slowing.

Common man, he basically coasted into the guy. From that clip he didnt take a stride from 10 ft out.

The bottom line is that a fore checking forward gets stapled to the bench for not putting pressure on the D man, and players who can't make a breakout pass and evade a hit with 10ft of space should not be in the NHL. No one wants to see a guy get hurt, but that is a routine play that happens 30 times a game.

Yeah I agree, but I don't think there's a generational player in this draft.

2 at 3 in regulation time

Wow, Burakovsky with the natural hat trick. Rantanen assisted on each goal and Mackinnon did on 2 of them. Thornton scored a PPG for the Panthers.

1 at 0 in regulation time

The Predators have won 5 straight. Saros with the 32 save SHUTOUT and half of those saves were in the 3rd period. Tomasino with the only goal of the game early in the 2nd period.

Ducks at Blues---A rare penalty shot was called in OT and Troy Terry scored on it, his 2nd goal of the game. There were only 2 penalties called in the game.

Wild at Knights---The Knights PK was the big reason they won, it was 5/6. Chandler Stephenson had 4 assists for the Knights.

Hurricanes at Canucks---The honeymoon continues for the Canucks with their new coach and Demko's strong play in net brings another win. It was another calm game here with just 2 penalties called.
