Let's sit down so I can explain to you uncle Boudreaus coaching record in the NHL. One of the best records in history.

Well over .500, with a Jack Adams to boot

Just had a look 270 wins. 215 losses. Not bad but not in the conversation at all.

Boudreau has 302 losses and 570 wins.

Boudreau didn't instill a new system in three days.

It takes time.

This is 100% the Canucks hauling ass because their ownership cleaned house.

Remember when the Flames pounded Montreal twice and shut down the Oilers in their first three under Sutter? And then the adrenaline wore off and that point until October was a process of gradulally becoming these Sutter Flames.

The Jack Adams Award, given to the coach most likely to get fired the following year when his sad-sack team is no longer overachieving?

Pretty sure it'll balance out by the end of the year

Could probably say the same about any award as most people don’t sustain the same levels of insane success over long periods, but he also took an expansion team to 51-24. Nothing to snuff at.

And is now killing it with the Rangers who previously underachieved, although to be fair a lot of that is on goaltending.

That was all on the team George McPhee built, and the foolishness of NHL GMs who tripped over themselves giving him good players that they didn't have to.

No other expansion team in the history of the league has had that kind of opportunity. In previous expansions, the new teams weren't competitive and weren't intended to be. The Golden Knights' owners paid half a billion dollars with the full understanding that the league would give them the chance to ice a competitive roster from day 1.

Gallant was not Rumpelstiltskin on that team. He did not spin straw into gold; the gold was supplied for him.

Islanders home opener was Nov. 20th and the Flames have played more road games than they have lol

I don’t buy that. Nobody knew Karlsson would put up 78 points after a previous high of 25, Marchesssult with 75 after a previous high of 51. Expansions aren’t a new thing. Why didn’t Seattle do it? You can’t just throw together a team of misfits that have never played together and turn it into 51-24. The team was well coached.

................and then they come home to play Carolina, lol. It's been a brutal schedule so far. Second half should be much more friendly.

Boudreau is only signed for this season and next. If the Canucks somehow manage to lose every single game in regulation during that time, his career record will still be 569-439-115.

I don't think even the Canucks can sort that one out.

It does. The Flames have finished their two longest road trips of the season already and one of their three 4 game trips.

From here on out, they have a 4 game Eastern trip at the beginning of January, another 4 game West Coast trip at the beginning of April, and a 3 game Central trip to end the season. From January 8 to April 2, they don't have any trips that are longer than 2 games.

Currently, no team has played more road games than the Flames and only the Islanders have played fewer home games (9 home, 17 road). 8 of the Flames next 11 games are at the Saddledome. By the end of that stretch, they will still have played 3 more road games than home (and they head out on a 4 game trip immediately after).

The Canucks and Oilers have actually had relatively average schedules, they just seem soft when compared to the Flames.

The Oilers road trips have been pretty soft, with only 3 of 12 road games so far in the Eastern Time Zone. The Canucks have played 8 of their 14 road games in the East. The Flames have played 12 of 17 in the East.
