Yeah at some point ceiling gives way to "will make a bottom 6/bottom pairing".
I think Duehr could have easily fit in opening day roster in the bottom line or maybe in Ritchie's spot.

For some ...
Those like me though would never put a replacement level bottom six forward (or 7th dman) any where near the top ten if you have guys that have potential to be impact players in the system.

Yup I would say at least there.. I might even personally put him above Philips since he is likely to get more action than Philips.. We'll see though

Guessing no higher than say 15 with his limited ceiling. One of the most interesting things about the prospect polls every summer is the different criteria we all use.
Those that vote for "will play" over potential probably slot him higher.
My guess ...
1. Coronato, Matthew 44%
2. Zary, Connor 65%
3. Pelletier, Jacob 86%
4. Wolf, Dustin 40%
5. Vladar, Daniel 45%
6. Mackey, Connor 38%
7. Stromgren, William 26%
8. Kuznetsov, Yan 36%
9. Ruzicka, Adam 27%
10. Kinnvall, Johannes 29%
11. Heineman, Emil 38%
12. Francis, Ryan 30%
13. Poirier, Jeremie 46%
14. Phillips, Matthew 38%
15. Pospisil, Martin 34%
Duehr goes here ....
16. Pettersen, Emilio Mathias 59%
17. Gawdin, Glen 28%
18. Jordan, Cole (Run Off)
19. Huckins, Cole (Run Off)
20. Parsons, Tyler 28%
21. Whynot, Cameron (Run Off)
22. Kerins, Rory (Run Off)
Or here ...
23. Chechelev, Daniil 26%
24. Zavagorodny, Dmitry 28%
25. Solovyov, Ilya 35%
Or as low as here ...

It shouldn't.
I'm fine with Duehr being in, especially for the role he would be playing (a rangey forechecker to dig loose pucks out for Dube and Mangiapane), but that situation aside if I were going to call someone up, it would be the RHS winger who can help turn Monahan's 0 5v5 pt season around, because he has a higher ceiling than Trevor Lewis.

We're talking about the prospect poll. Who cares how someone else makes their choice? and if someone has a sky high ceiling but never makes the show, how does that make them a better prospect than someone who is a 99% lock to make it and contribute, but will almost certainly never be a top 6 player? It's a weighing of factors.

I would have preferred Ruzicka getting a nod as he had a great season last year and is showing well in the AHL so far this season.
Duehr had a good camp, but feels like the organization has an axe to grind with Ruzicka at this point as everything I've heard is highly positive about his play and he's put up 31 points in his last 34 games.

Duehr had a good camp, but feels like skipping over some of the others who have paid their dues while still producing is a bit of a poor choice.

Sutter made it sound like they wanted a RW ... Period.
On the Stockton roster that would give you the option of;
Phillips
Zavgorodniy
Tuulola
Philp
Duehr
When it comes to production, Phillips has 5 points, Philp 4, and Duehr 3.
When it comes to replacing an injured player, and size to go with Mangiapane and Dube I think the choice was pretty obvious.

The choice is far from obvious, especially if you're thinking you might want someone with more offensive flair to their game and quite a bit more pro experience. Ruzicka isn't exactly much smaller than Duehr either.
As we've seen, this team isn't shy about asking players to play either side or out of position, and certainly doesn't tend to recall players with next to no time spent in the AHL very often.

Sutter clearly wanted a big RS/RW to replace a big RS/RW,
Ruzicka is a big LS/C.
Give the man who he wants, apparently he knows what he is doing.

Well it seemed obvious to me when I heard Sutter wanted a right wing that he would recall a right wing and not a left shooting center.
To each their own on the obvious scale though!
