almost any other player and I would think this one might have been an accident.
for the amount of times he's had a "dangerous trip" as the league calls it, I agree he needs a suspension.

This is probably closer to the 20th time in his career he's done this.
4th time this year.

During a Nashville road trip we saw a few Preds at the Cactus club downtown. When I tried to take a photo with PK Subban I tripped and fell a little. This whole time I thought I was clumsy..

Even Golf digest sees it, they call him the Wayne Gretzky of slew footing
https://www.golfdigest.com/story/pk-...ot-milan-lucic
It shows some slew foots, including against Dubinsky and Neal that were also brutal.
Dubinsky right in front of the ref and the arm stays down. Neal, when Subban slew foots him, his stick comes up and hits Subban in the head, so Neal gets 2 min for being slew footed

This is disappointing as despite the hate he seems to get from many (maybe most?) fans, I've always liked him especially because of his charitable endeavours in Montreal. 4 incidents in 7 weeks seems to point to them being done on purpose. Not cool.

Just a general comment here, the DOPS (or perhaps NHL officiating in general) is the most inconsistent thing I have ever seen in my life.
A dangerous play is a dangerous play, and should be penalized accordingly. Why does there appear to be so much emphasis on if there is injury or not? There appears to be terrible inconsistencies across the league, and even in the case of individual game progression.

Because the DOPS's job is not to protect players from injury. It's to protect the league from bad PR. If nobody gets hurt, the story dies on its own. If there's an injury, the league has to do something so the spin doctors have an angle to work with.

You're absolutely correct, though obviously they would never admit that.

That has been the goal since the NHL formed the Department of Player Safety in 2011: to change player behavior, making the game safer while keeping it physical. The department has emphasized consistency, transparency and education by using video to explain each suspension and the standards, and speaking to players directly.

Subban has really let me down. For a while, he was one of my favourite players. Mainly because of his attitude

What the heck happened to Subban? He used to be so good for the game, so good for the community, so good on the ice.
I'm saddened by his downfall.

When I can’t remember off the top of my head how many times the slewfoot was done, that’s a repeat offender.
