My understanding was that Beach was a black ace during the team's 2010 run and that the taunting took place during that period - i.e. right after the incident occurred. If it also took place at the AHL level, that would seem to support his contention that the story was known throughout the entire organization, which is to say that the players in question knew, didn't do anything about it, and lied about what they knew.
There's no way to know for sure what these guys knew and when, that's true. They have throughout given me the impression of people whose agents have told them "Whether you did or not, for the sake of your career, say you didn't know anything about it and didn't hear until later."
