The offersheet a player to drive up their cost just creates an enemy in the future where a team will do the same.

I don't see it. For the reasons already brought up and the fact that Petterssen is a C, I look at Aho's contract as a more comparable for Petterssen in AAV. The term has to be longer than the 5 years Aho signed for though.

His older brother 19th pick overall in 2015

Barzal
Connor
Chabot
Evgeny Svechnikov
Eriksson Ek

He has just signed a PTO with the Jets after playing his ELC + 1 in Detroit for $874,125 two-way contract 70K AHL

Having things not breaking as planned for his brother might be a motivating factor of lowering greed for a situation that is working.

His signing bonus for this contract 4,000,037 is just more than double of his brother's career earnings to date.

Am I the only one that has no clue WTF you're talking about? Your post makes more sense reading it bottom to top and even then, what?

I understand what he's saying but I don't understand what he's saying, if that makes sense.

Think he's saying he took the money because his brother is a scrub and hasn't made any money but that really is irrelevant as Carolina svechnikov is a much better player.

I am so sorry I was unclear

The 4 players drafted closest to the where his older brother Evgeny was drafted have all signed contracts in excess of 40 M.

It would not be unreasonable to Evgeny (and his family) having similar expectations to those being drafted at that point. Injuries and opportunity left Evgeny definitely not having the career and financial security they were expecting at this point in time.

Andrei just might have a greater appreciation of his situation where he was able to reach his expectations and be motived to take a slight discount to continue in his situation while having more than enough money for the rest of his life.

If you are still having trouble following this have your handler or aide try to explain this to you. Or perhaps phone a help line.

I hope you are better soon.

What his brother has done is irrelevant.

Imagine thinking a replaceable, borderline NHLer was factored into A. Svechnikov’s contract.
