If they had not made those changes they would still be better than last year and you know it. I am certainly capable of calling out your nonsense posts.

So they would be better with the same team that did nothing last year??

LOL

Yeah...nonsense should be in your vocabulary.

And you just confirmed you really can't follow a conversation...so carry on.

Yes, because teams that have an off year never get better the next season unless they make big changes. The Flyers had a bunch of things go wrong last year, they were a playoff roster that things didn't go right for last year for many reasons. If they had made zero changes you would still think they would be better next year just like everybody else. Instead you try to come off as the snarky smart guy in the room. Get mad at me all you want because I called you out for it, I don't care.

Voracek is 1 year younger and has 3 years compared to Atikin's 4 left on his deal, but at $2.5M more AAV. Wouldn't be too surprising to see them try to get rid of him.

Decent shakeup trade. Save some money on the cap for Philly but take on the extra year.

I wouldn’t mind the Flames doing something like this with a guy like Backlund. I definitely want a new mix of players next year and making a deal like this with Backlund is less risky than say Monahan

2 months younger, Aug 89 to June 89 for Atkinson.

The Jackets clearly won’t be contending for a while. So Voracek’s higher annual cap hit matters less than the 1 year shorter term. And Voracek seems happy to play in Columbus, which sadly isn’t the case for a lot of players. So I can see why the Jackets make this deal.

Still, Atkinson is the better player at this point, so the Flyers just improved their roster. Also shook up an inconsistent and underachieving core.

This is why the Flyers will be better...not because they upgraded theit overall talent or addressed some glaring hole.

From the GM himself

Its exactly how i feel about the Flames.

I thought Atkinson was younger as well. But when he's on, he really fun to watch.

could see CBJ retaining some salary, and flipping Voracek for more assets. Easy trade for a team starting a rebuild.

Gritty meets Atkinson wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Atkinson wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Gritty on it.

Feel like I need to leave myself a reminder to take Atkinson in my fantasy league this year... think he's going to do very well with some actual offensive help.
