Honestly that’s a really good deal for Larsson. He’s no superstar but he’s a very solid 2nd pairing guy.

There's also nothing the league could do about teams just delaying for a few days, as they're under no obligation to deal by any particular time.
The Kassian one confuses me as we've heard rumblings about him interesting teams and even taking off my red spectacles a second, I just don't see it. He's a guy who's supposedly tough but never fights or engages with others team's bruisers, supposedly has skill but has played himself off a line with the league's top scorer because he drags him down, I genuinely can't see him even being 3rd line anywhere in the league, they couldn't give him away a little while ago and he's paid disproportionately high. What is that bringing back in a trade? I would think they'd have to retain and send a pick but what do I know. If Holland can flip him for something of value it may be his best work as a GM, definitely his best of the last decade.

Dumping Kassian on another team for anything would be a huge win for the Oilers. They need to rid themselves of that contract so they can bring in actual talent, especially on the blueline. If they can some how keep Barrie they will again be dangerous in the upcoming season. Their PP alone could power them to the playoffs in the weak Pacific.

If that Edmonton offer is true, if I'm Seattle I offer him that with one extra year and take him as my Oiler. There's not much else to choose from on that team, maybe Kahun.

Should have known the rumored contract was too good to be true, especially in Edmonton

Could Larsson be a fit behind Hanifin as the #2 LD?
I hate watching the Oilers so I have no idea. I know I was a fan of getting him to the Flames before the infamous trade.
Seems like a fit in the Little Stockholm thing CGY has going on.

No one is taking Kassian without salary retained.

Those rumours are a pipe dream. He's got three years left on a horrible contract and his already pedestrian offensive stats will take a nose dive on another team where he won't be getting shifts with two of the highest scoring players in the league. He actually showed significant decline last season.

There is no way The Coilers move Kassian. Their new billion dollar defenceman was just saying how Kassian is a big reason he thought the coilers would have success.

Why take something from Edmonton that they're already losing anyways? Make it hurt more. Take Klefbom, ruin the LTIR flex for next year and use it yourself if you're the Kraken. That's their 2 biggest chunks of capable d men gone in a flash
Klefbom may never play again but this will guarantee he never plays for Edmonton again.

What’s the LTIR flex? Second poster I read who thinks it’s some advantage.

So you're saying the Oilers wouldn't have been over the cap last year if Klefbom wasn't on LTIR? And much the same again this year?
It doesn't count in the offseason but during the season...

But they would have had Klefbom in the lineup.
Having him on LTIR does not create an advantage, it is in fact a slight disadvantage (because yo don't bank unused cap space).
If Seattle took Klefbom, the Oilers' cap situation would actually improve slightly, and Seattle wouldn't get a useful asset. Ridiculous suggestion, sorry.

He didn’t play. So yes we were over the cap with a replacement dman.
But if Seattle takes him we lose his 4.1 mil off the cap so no need to go over.
LTIR isn’t some magical cap room (unless he was planning on coming back for the playoffs)
