Keith 37 coming off a 15 point -13 season with some of the worst fancy stats in NHL history

Lets trade two assets and blow all our cap space on that lol

You aren't getting a sweetheart deal or any type of retention from Chicago.

So why do this before the Draft / Free Agency opens. Keith for a 3rd in 2022 is probably still there on August 1st if you want to do it.

HahahA this is great. The Oilers have now spent half their CaP sPaCE on RNH and a 37 year old Keith.

Keith has payed a ton of hockey and won 3 cups. He asked to be moved closer to home to hang with his son. I would bet he gives no real ####’s about playing hockey anymore and is just squeezing those last few paycheques out of his career before retirement. Astute move Kenny, very astute.

They don’t have anyone else worthy of protecting, so no big loss…

But that is the real joke.

Guess they feel they don't have any leadership in the room. I guess bringing in an over the hill defenseman that's played his best hockey years ago is the answer. Silly Oil!

What would be funnier?

1) Seattle takes him in the expansion draft so the oilers end up paying a 3rd round pick for absolutely nothing.
2) Seattle does not take him and they have lost a 3rd round pick on a 37 year old who has been one of the worst defensemen (stats-wise) for the last few years.

I think #2. Lol.

This is similar to the Flames bringing in Bouwer in that the GM felt he needed to overpay for veteran leadership. It didn't work out for the Flames nor do I expect this to work out for the Oilers. If he had only one more year left on his contract I could maybe see the risk but will they even be able to put him on the ice in the 2022/23 season? Also I don't understand why they would throw in a 3rd round pick when the Hawks aren't retaining salary. Seems like the Oilers really wanted him badly.

I just tried and couldn't find it but didn't we hear late last week that the Greasers were "playing hardball" with Chicago with regards to this trade?

Holy *&^% I love those idiots!
