Parayko isn't any better a target than Tarasenko. He's already declining and is much older than Tkachuk. And the Flames certainly can't afford to add both Parayko and Tarasenko.

Not super interested in giving a 29 year old Parayko a 6-7 year deal right after Gio expires

RoR 2.0 trade.

Buffalo will trade Eichel to blues for tarensenko plus a young stud.

They just aren't a good trade partner. There are no restrictions on where he can be traded and most teams could easily offer more than St. Louis.

The may want him, but none of that matters.

The looming QO is a pretty big restriction. Lots of salary has to leave most teams for them to afford $9M.

I actually like Parayko, and I think Sutter would love him.
But yeah, he's already showing signs of slowing down, and there's contract uncertainty.

TBF the story is “officially requested”. So if he’s actually done that, he should live with it.

why is it in proposed blockbusters we always seem to give up the best player by far.

I demand a trade!

OK, but you have a no movement clause. You'll have to waive it.

NO!

Many Flames fans have advocated for Tkachuk+Zary+12th overall as a base for Eichel so it is known who has more value. Keep in mind Tkachuk isn’t sidelined with a neck injury either.
Most people agree the Flames need a rebuild because we don’t have elite players. Zary is barely a top 50 prospect and 12 vs 16 overall pick is really same type of player

Tkachuk is young and doesn’t have a ntc but he has major contract issue. Unfortunately at least half the league should be as concerned as we are about those contract issues. There might only be a handful of teams he would resign with this summer long term for a reasonable deal. Age becomes irrelevant if the player is near ufa and has a 0 interest in signing with your team. Sorry there is not 31 teams lining up to pay for him because of this. Unless the rumours are wrong but treliving would know this and if he trades Tkachuk it’s because he wants out

Is fox worth a 2nd? Nope but it’s a good return when he has his own agenda on who he plans to play for

I am not convinced that most people agree about this at all. Lots of posters do, but my perception is that many of them are also among the most vocal.

A Tkachuk for Tarasenko trade is a complete non-starter, and I also hate a swap for Monahan.

I dunno... I wouldn't hate seeing what a Gaudreau Monahan Tarasenko line can do.

It depends on the rest of the return, of course, since Chucky straight across would be a massive overpayment on our part. Like a good second-line piece to slot in on the right side with Mangiapane Lindholm.

Seems to be about a 3rd split for rebuild vs retool vs stay the course about a month ago. Add potential Tkachuk wanting out and that should shift more to rebuild. Basically your 23 year old most valuable asset says he doesn’t want to play here anymore. He also has a strangle hold on you contract wise. Common sense tells me his value just dropped at least a bit and half the league might pass because he has no interest in your team either. His contract can get him paid but still get him to ufa status as quick as possible. It’s basically a nmc for way too many teams if the rumours are true. Looks likely they are if he is being shopped around.

Tarasenko is still a name that pops off the page for me. Does he have a second wind in him after injury troubles?

But basically I am just craving change on this roster.

His injuries are a concern but he also an elite goal scorer and his contract isn’t very good if he can’t stay healthy but if he does his contract is much better than some are saying it is

Flames fans want a bunch for monahan and are willing to ignore the wrist back and hip issues when it comes to his value. Other teams bandaids are terrible though and have 0 value or chance to ever return to previous form
