Maybe. Usually there’s this whistle that goes before you head off to the bench after a cover.

Still, you protect your goalie. Especially in the playoffs when almost every covered puck ends up in a scrum... and Dougie literally started skating to the bench before he heard a whistle.

Even if the puck had been covered and play stopped, Dougie peaced out without even looking to see if a Nashville player was coming in to take an extra poke or whack at his goalie's hands.

Double overtime coming up again! The shots are 55-37 in favour of the Hurricanes. Saros is saving the Predators.

Shots 58-41, just a battle out there.

Edit: They just said Saros has 50+ saves in consecutive games, yikes.

It's funny hearing the Nashville broadcast pronounce Maxime Lajoie's name as "La-Joy".

Nashville even has Mathieu Olivier on it's roster, which the broadcast seems to pronounce correctly.

Speaking of... the OT winner:

Dougie went behind the net chasing a rimmed puck for some reason, leaving the slot wide open for the goal.

Ya it was weird. I was going to excuse the brainfart figuring he'd played 45 mins or something, but it was only 33:28.

Hadn't been following this series at all so didn't realize Slavin was out since game 1. Pesce and Skjei were both around 40 mins tonight

Have to admit, after the first two games this series looked like it was going to be a quick one, Carolina was just so obviously the better team there.

Very true. Good point.

The Predators seem to go down 2-0 in past series and do comeback to tie it with their two home games. I recall a series against the Red Wings following this pattern.

Schedule in the first post has been updated for game six.

So, so true. Was a total pylon here defensively, and prone to lazy hooking penalties when skated around by determined forwards.

The Predators lead 2-1 late in the second period. Go Predators.

The Predators are playing hang on.
They had a power play opportunity and the Hurricanes successfully killed it. Halfway through the third period.
