I think this is probably a good thing. Flames need a break to reset and refocus. It may only be a single day off but it could still be beneficial.

Thing about this conference, even though tanking would be beneficial, I can't bear to lose to the Canucks or Leafs or Oilers or Jets (don't really care about the Habs or Sens).

There are probably a few, but every team misses on draft picks all the time.

I was mainly talking obvious ones. I suppose Parsons?
Really, there's only 3 drafts worth of work to look at (2015-17), given almost no one from 2018 is even in the league yet outside of the first round (and even then, not with huge impact except 5 of the top 7). From those 3 drafts he has 7 players with decent amount of games in the NHL, and of those all but Kylington are regulars. Outside of Parsons, every player he's picked in the first 3 rounds has made an impact. Plus Mangiapane.

No chance. Parsons at the time was an excellent pick. He was trending at the draft to be a top-flight goalie with untapped potential, and then followed that up with a WJC gold medal in his Draft+1 year. I don't think his development and injury issues that derailed his career could have been anticipated at the draft. This was an incredibly unlucky pick.

Agreed. The Flames scouts have been doing a very good job. The GM also deserves credit for that.

Woo! So does ours, and badly.
But even from an awful Flames perspective I cringed at your bottom six line up.

Man you know the team isn't doing well when the GDT is 6-7 threads down on the forum (although not any more I guess...)

Our top line winger is our 2nd line center! We did it!

I love late starts because nobody bothers me during the game (and nobody sees my tears)
