OK so he didn't know till last minute? Incompetent.
His brother couldn't get the feel if he would sign here? Sure....

Excuses that make little sense.

Incompetent? The team was not allowed to speak to Stone until very shortly before the trade call. How else was he supposed to know?

Competing with Vegas for a UFA contract

GL

Teams switch GMs and Brad is the shrewd GM that landed Stone for Vegas

Oh yes. These guys never talk to friends or FAMILY.

Treliving wasn't there trying to find out if Stone was gonna sign. He knew he could sign him, just didint want to part with Valimaki.

You are the one making the completely unfounded assumption that Mike Stone somehow held the key to ensuring that Treliving knew everything he needed to about trading for his brother. Aside from tbe fact that this is—again—totally baseless, I'm pretty sure this would also qualify as tampering.

Oh the tampering. Wow, gotta grow up a bit. There is lots of tampering going around.

Baseless? Sure. And yours is what? A fact?

Let's keep in mind, the best player to ever play the game signed a max term deal in Edmonton. Just think about that. It's all about $$$.

Calgary can't land a Stone? Not when the GM seems unsure he wants the player bad enough.

It was a contract extension. We did that with Lids and Hanifin.

No, but you are the one labeling the GM incompetent for not doing something you imagine he didn't do, and something that was quite possibly against the rules.

"Grow up." Feel free to to take your own advice.

Oh please. The guy only had 6 years to get that RW. And sure, he was afraid of prison LOL.

You tell me to grow up? Lol, I grew up long ago. I'm so grown up that I can call BS when I see one.

Some day you will see it too.

Vegas paid what they did because they knew they could sign him - he ended up making that clear to them. Calgary didn’t because, yes, they found out in the discussions that they had no shot at that.

Maybe, just maybe, people know about that stuff.

Mike Stone would never talk to Treliving about how much his brother would want to play here - that’s ridiculous.

ETA: Just to match Stone’s $9.5 Calgary would have to pay $11M. And that’s just to draw even with Vegas.

Make #### up, then blame others for it. I know a straw man when I see it.

I'm done.

Wow, that is the tops.
Iam so glad you were available to let us peasants know what "really" happened.

I admire your arrogance. It's a skill than only a few possess. Good for you.

RFAs without arbitration IIRC. But either way, Treliving obviously knew their price because their deals got done super quickly. RFA contracts are his strength.

If you do, they certainly didn’t tell you what the discussions were like.
