Nope, not, when the going gets tough, the Oilers will fold due to inexperience and lack of depth. Plus the refs will let teams get away with a lot more against the holy diver.
Even if they get out of the Canadian division the elite teams in the US divisions will feast on them.

Mario Lemieux had 199 points one year
I am thinking that guy wasn't alive during his prime

I was a kid during the Gretzky years so can’t remember. Was the circle jerk of the oilers that bad on tv???

Yeah Gretzky was the face of the NHL and he was on commericals like 7up. He was always talked about the man scored 92 goals in a season and broke 200 points. Difference was it felt justified, they talked about his NHL breaking records at a young age, not how fast he can skate.

Nah. They could possibly make it out of the Canadian division, but even that's not a guarantee if the Leafs are playing well. They'll also get absolutely smoked by any of the elite U.S. based teams. Depth and sound defensive play wins Cups, and the Oilers don't have either of those things.
Also as stated above, the refs pretty much put their whistles away come playoff time and the Grease won't get anywhere near as many PPs as they do now.

Where did you get that "alternative fact" from? The Oilers were 500 against the Jets ahead of the most recent two-game sweep. By my count, they have a winning record against every team in the North division except the Leafs (2-5) and Montreal (1-2). They play Montreal three in a row this week, so they might pull into a winning record with Montreal this week and then it is just the Leafs that seem to have their number.

Of course there are wrong opinions. Had you told us that in your opinion, Dana Murzyn was better than Bobby Orr, what do you think the response would be?
McDavid is the best player in the league, but even as recently as this past off-season, it was a dead heat between him and Matthews. Now he's clearly pulled ahead in that race (in spite of Matthews having a great season), but to compare him to Lemieux... good grief. No.

So under .500 against playoff teams in the north

Considering McDavid has won one playoff series in his entire career and can't touch Mario statistically it's not a great opinion IMO

You said against teams not the sens/flames. Well the Jets and the Canucks are below. 500 against the Oilers this season too. So far. And the top four get in right? Where are the Jets? If you're throwing out "facts", make sure they're correct or you're going to be corrected.
