I'm no physicist, but it doesn't look like Tinordi gets much of his weight on the ice before hitting the boards, so that's a pretty brutal G-force stop.
I certainly wouldn't call it open-ice when Tanev is travelling completely E-W and initiates contact 8-10 feet from the boards, and it looks like they separate around 4-5 feet from them. Textbook boarding..., but only 2 min. penalty IMO
