Great game. Flames weren't even at their best.
The skilled guys need time to acclimate to Sutter hockey. The grit guys are already there and are carrying things at the moment.
I miss Ward very little.

That was a great game! Flames could have been better, but just from a competition and entertainment point of view that was excellent.

All I have to say is we need to work on our PP big time.
It was the only time in the game we looked terrible, were scrambling and destroying the momentum we were building at 5v5.

Just as a side note, Hanifin with the game winning goal.
That was his 3rd goal in his last 5 games. Add to that, he was really effective against McDavid all night.
Guy is turning into a #1 stud defenseman before our eyes.

Win is a win but I think tonight we saw some of the old bad habits creep back into their game. They were really passive in the last few minutes and were very fortunate. Still three straight wins despite Tkachuk, Backlund, and Gaudreau struggling mightily is good. Starting to get a little worried about the Gio and Anderson pairing. They have some awful stretches at times.

F*** yes!
Good job by the Flames clearing the puck out of their zone in those last 2 minutes, and a terrific save by Markstrom right at the end.
I didn't see the whole game, but man, they looked pretty great from what I was able to watch. The team is clearly responding to Sutter so far, and if they can get the PP and the top line firing on all cylinders, this team will be very tough to beat.
