I suppose you could say that once per year is a "regular basis."

It's actually way safer if you're driving, and our calls are directly properly an extra 10% of the time. That doesn't mean much to you, but to us it means 1000 calls/day we don't have to transfer. Also, because you can do more stuff yourself, we take less calls. Need to know how many minutes you've used this month already? Say 'airtime summary'... or say operator or agent and it'll get you through to someone.

Try that on a quiet bus... you'll look like a fool. I hate those automated robots.

Sorry. Not nearly as self-concious as you, I guess. I sing to myself on the bus even.

Not to start any fights or anything, but while this statement is technically accurate, it probably should be expanded on. I have a friend who works for Telus' wireline service department, and he says their voice system actually prioritises calls based on a disturbing variety of factors, one of which includes how far you get through that stupid voice system. My understanding is that if you simply say "agent" or "operator" you get placed in the lowest-priority spot.

Not true. We cannot answer all calls within 20 seconds if we prioritize like that. The only priority we have is for those who spend more money with us. Has nothing to do with the system. The difference is only that you may not get who you want, and we may have to transfer you again. Also that we're answering a blind call. (We know what you pressed or said when you exited the system.) You get the main Client Care department, instead of technical service or something else.

I should qualify that by saying I work for TM, and we have different though similar systems. I don't really know how they prioritize, but usually, those who spend more get better service.

So that's why you use the autobots to keep us on the phone for so long...what is it, $3.99 a minute or something?

My rant on CIBC:

Well, I guess I know what i'm doing come January. The CIBC, after 7 years of my business is getting axed. I axed my credit card with them earlier this year, and now, after seeing that I payed over $50 for two months of service these past two months, I'm sick of them. I called to see what could be done. They suggest I try to keep $1500 in the bank so the service is free. $1500!!!! I'm a fatating student for fatas sake. I can't keep that amount in there, my student loans aren't intended to be kept in my bank so I get free services, they are for, oh what are those things called... ummmm.... tuition and rent! So I ask the service centre guty what other account options I have. He tells me I can get an acount with a $12.95 monthly fee that is all inclusive. I tell him, no try again. I let him know a couple more times what another bank, coast capital, is willing to give me. Once again, he comes back saying, well, we have branches all across the country... I'm a student, I don't go across the country. ARGGGG. I tell them one more time, I am going to switch unless they can ofer me something better. Nope.

So, January, when my next set of student loans comes in, I'm walking over to coast capital and signing up for their no service fee acount.

Fata the CIBC!!!!!
