My only memory of Brett Ritchie was this super dirty buttend to Monahan's head:

Kylington has one season of 38 games, and a second season of 48 games. He's 23 years old, and I think that there has been decent progression. I don't know why there is an impression that he is a non-wily old vet that just can't put things together.

I think that last spot is between him and Nestorov, and depending on how the taxi squad ends up looking they could split time all season.

The Flames need more depth scoring (especially on the back end), not zero-offense forwards.
They already have Rinaldo, Robinson, Pospíšil, Lucic, Bennett, etc.

When games are so close, you can't afford to just sacrifice an entire line of production.
Plus, guys like Gawdin and Phillips deserve some ice time at some point. Their development matters since they actually have some potential.

The younger the Flames are, the better they tend to play. People want to prove themselves. I just hope they keep the roster young for opening day.

I honestly think Nesterov is a lock and Kylington will be scrapping it out with Petrovic and Mackey for first dibs on the taxi squad.

Well, being a guy who mentioned Kylington, I will remark that I didn’t say what you said above

From what we have seen, there are flashes of skill and there are the bad decisions that young defencemen make. He has yet to put things together, no big deal. It’s not that he won’t be able to, it’s just that he hasn’t yet. And until he has, he hasn’t

Maybe the guy who was one of the top D in the KHL is better today than a young bubble guy. We will see

Any news if the AHL teams associated with Canadian teams will be moving to Canada as previously rumoured?

No they won't be moving. Treliving confirmed the intention is that the Heat will play in Stockton this year.

“Can we play guys on wings that normally aren’t wingers? We want to know if guys can make that switch. We feel like we’re really strong at centre ice.”

Head coach Geoff Ward addressed new line combinations and a whole lot more to kick off training camp.

If:

(1) They won’t move Backlund to the wing because that experiment failed last season,
(2) They want Lindholm and Bennett at centre and
(3) There are four centre positions,

Then:

(4) He is talking about moving either Monahan or Ryan to centre.

I’m curious. Which would people prefer?

If #23 gets a run on wing early with #28 at C I'll be loading up on Flames division champs/West champs/Stanley Cup winners futures.

Robinson is not that good at fighting and he’s not really an NHL player.

Rinaldo is undersized for this role.

A few seasons ago, Ritchie scored 16 goals and had 34 points.

As long as his effort is there, he’s better than both Robinson and Rinaldo in every way.

I agree. I think Lindholm, Monahan, Backlund and Bennett is the Flames' best centre depth chart. Also, Ryan to RW gives the team another right-handed right wing after it moves Lindholm to centre.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Tkachuk - Monahan - Leivo
Lucic - Backlund - Ryan (high D-zone start percentage)
Simon - Bennett - Dube (high O-zone start percentage)

Pospisil is not coming to Flames camp.

That's a $15-million 3rd line that you have there.
