Pelletier is just pretty good at everything. His game translates very well to the NHL.

Agreed. His effort on the backcheck and his defensive awareness and positioning have been really good.

So I may be wrong but I believe Zary went one spot higher in the draft than D Justin Barron.
Anyone thinking Barron might have been the better choice?

Way way way too early to tell. Zary is going to be a good player.

I've learned to never make assumptions about draft picks based on performance at WJC. Remember Mackinnon? He showed terribly at the tournament.

Keep in mind Zary is also being asked to play a completely different role than he would normally. Not to mention he barely plays enough to have an opinion.
Im not sure why Team Canada isn't rolling lines more. They have the most depth of any team but barely use it.

Canada has played three terrible teams and Zary has been given hardly any ice time...hard to judge anything
Canada's top PP lines look terrible TBH, they should mix in some other guys they are all qualified. They could use somebody going to the net and causing havoc in front

I think Pelletier will be a Backlund style of player. Good 2 way F that helps his linemates by doing the bulk of the heavy lifting with some sneaky offensive skills. Maybe more of a rebound goal scorer but his workethic and board battles will make him a really effective 2nd or 3rd line complimentary player.

Pelletier just missed another one, set up by Zary.

They almost connect for another one. That was a nice little pass by Zary from behind the net.

Solid game from the Flames prospects. All have looked very solid in the short time we’ve seen them. Impressed with our scouting staff at finding a lot of skill and jam for our prospect base. Especially given where we tend to draft.
