I thought Nielsen would get a QO to maintain his rights since he signed in Europe.

Especially if we think we have to trade Doc for cap space. There is value in center than can be a top PKer.

I wonder if Weisbrod convinces Benning to take a look at him.

Look out Switzerland, here comes potentially the best player drafted in the 2012 draft.

Montreal was the team rumored back in the day as why the flames had to pick him in the 1st round. Could also see Tampa pick him up on league minimum.

I really hate how people think you can see desire, just because someone doesn't show an emotion, doesn't mean it isn't there.

So when he refuses to engage physically over and over again that isn't a sign if compete or desire?
I've seen those kind of guys through 4 decades of this game...its always how much they want it vs how much they actually give. Everyone wants to win and be as good as they can...some do all they can to achieve that and others dont. Pretty simple

Or maybe he's just not a very physical player, and isn't comfortable playing like that, it is not a sign of desire. Bouwmeester never played that way either.
Call me crazy, but I would say it takes a decent amount of desire to be a good PKer.

Montreal was rumoured because his uncle was a scout for the Habs at the time. He recently joined Arizona as their director of amateur scouting.
Also, IIRC, it was New Jersey who was rumoured to be interested in Jankowski at the draft. Poirier in 2013 was the one that Montreal was interested in, which is why the Flames picked him at 22 instead of waiting until 28.

I know how they got him. I also know what he did after Treliving cut him loose.

It’s a shame. I’d say Weisbrod wasn’t totally wrong on the guy’s skill but just seems he lacks the intensity to be an athlete at the most elite level.

When you play for the Flames, you are supposed to have flames coming out of your nostrils.
