That is a terrible trade by Bergeron. The 3rd should be going the other way. Wow.

Domi has negative value?!

This trade is bonkers. Glad we were far away from it.

Bergevin on the hot seat, and making moves that might not be the best long term.

Lavoie saying Anderson was an extremely hot commodity the last few days.

I think this may be the result of a bidding war.

Montreal somehow makes out well in a lot of these deals. I like it from Montreal’s standpoint. They get bigger while maintaining the skill. BJ’s don’t fare too badly either. I’m just not sold on Domi being your main guy.

After seeing what Montreal had to pay, I’m glad it wasn’t us.

I get that Anderson had a down year and could rebound. Maybe even should.

But when your down year is 1 goal and 4 points, that is just a gigantic red flag. It's unbelievable he would have much value after that.

Well, luckily we didn’t win that bidding war. Tre was probably involved

Shows the premium placed on cap space in this environment. Montreal likely saves at least $2 mil, maybe more, once both players are signed. And they get bigger, which was a priority for a team with the smallest group of forwards in the league. I don’t hate this deal for the Habs.

Blue Jackets get a guy who can slot in at #2 or even #1 LW, or maybe even try out at #2 C. For a guy who barely played last season.

It’s a defensible deal for both teams.

Not to mention that Anderson's injury was a shoulder, which could affect his shooting and fighting, the two things he is good at.

I realize that Bergevin's built a team that won the qualifying round (same result of our beloved Treliving, which folks are ready to annoint a statue to), which has him thinking his team is ready for their compete-now phase.... but is he easily one of the dumbest GMs out there in this day and age?

regardless, pretty meh deal. Domi is basically his dad with a bit more skill, and a lot less aggression/tenacity. Overall, his dad had more impact to a game regardless.

Glad we didn't over pay for Andersson. Glad we didn't over pay to be the 3rd team/change of scenery attempt for Domi.

How is the third not going the other way? What am I missing here, I had thought Domi's value was much higher than that.

Montreal added too? That's a bit of a D in the B for the Habs I'd say.

Yes, it was outlandish and stupid - thankfully, Treliving > Bergevin.

I don't think that's true at all. Max has a 70 point season under his belt. Tie had a career high of 29 lol.

But GMBT was interested and had some irons in the fire...

This is going to be an offseason where everyone improves but the Flames stay even more average isn't it?

Depending on the contracts dished out here you could very easily make the argument that Anderson provides more value to an organization. I don't see the need for the pick but it's a third - so who cares.

I can see Domi thinking he's worth 6M a year which he's nowhere close to being.
