The Flyers had full possession behind their net, Sanheim rifles the puck up to a covered Couturier who can't tip it out and Pageau ties the game.

Baffling inability to not get the puck out.

Flyers challenging for an offsides though.

Looks onside to me.

Yep, it's a goal and Philly is shorthanded with 2:09 left in a tie game...

The Isles were tagging up and the player straddling the blueline brought the puck across maybe early, but didn't touch the puck right away.

Wowww Isles march all the way back, 3-3 now with 2 minutes to go. Very impressive.

Haha why do all the matinee games on nice days go to OT? #### summer daytime hockey man

Good for the Isles. I enjoy watching a team that is playing the system designed to suit their talents.

I'm super jealous of how assertively and slick they quickly set up that breakout into the Flyers zone to set up an effective PP opportunity. Flames so passive in comparison

The key with the onside ruling is that it's not about when the puck slides across the blueline as the player (Nelson) is tagging up, but when Bailey, the Islander straddling the blueline, actually touches the puck again inside the offensive zone.

Bailey slides the puck into the zone technically early as Nelson hasn't tagged up yet, but Bailey doesn't actually touch the puck until after the Nelson tags up.

A confusing sequence of events as we're conditioned to think it's about the exact moment when the puck crosses the blueline, but that's only if a player has the puck on his stick as that's happening.

Flyers win anyways.

Myers with a rocket from the point.

Lee tipped the puck and it bounced off the ice over Greiss' glove.

Flyers have the talent, but not a huge fan of them being coached to dump and turtle with a lead. It worked against Mtl, but against better teams, it's not gonna be a good formula.

Having a stellar goalie had been amazing.

Tyler Pitlick opens the scoring for Philly. Always nice to see players find some success after freeing themselves from Edmonton.

These Islanders are a real throwback. Love watching all these veterans proving their worth when it matters most. Very fun to watch.

Anders Lee makes it 3-1.

Trotz consistently has his teams playing the kind of hockey that wins way more often than loses.

I was told Trotz doesn't over-coach with systems, he asks to give it every shift, support your teammates and have fun like you did as a kid, apparently his favorite criticism is "you forgot your legs can move"
