Sad that my longest lasting memory of him was having his ribs crunched by a crosscheck in the playoffs, by Joel Otto I think.

I remember watching some pretty good Oilers-Jets games growing up. It's unfortunate for Hawerchuck that he played in the same division and at the same time as the Oilers and Gretzky.

I don't know how to link twitter directly but wanted to share. Serge Savard sharing some details about his last call with Dale, and taking him under his wing when they played in Winnipeg in Duckys rookie year.

Without Dale, I have no idea where I’d be in this hockey world. He believed in me and gave me chances when no one else did. My thoughts and prayers go out to his whole family. He will always be an inspiration and role model to me. Rest In Peace Dale. #HawerchuckStrong
