I think you keep the crash line together, it’s been your best line and they need to keep tenderizing Heiskinen and Klingberg, it will pay off later.

Give the first line one more chance, tell them to keep it simple, play for rebounds and garbage goals with Mony net front.

Move Ryan up to replace Chucky, he’s got more to give and is the best of the 4th line.

Put Rinaldo on the 4th line and tell him to seek and destroy on dump ins and head right to the bench when the whistle goes. Make sure Janko and Reider make good dumps that allow Rhino to get his licks in. If this line isn’t going to score, they need to contribute by not getting scored on (Janko and Reiders role) and punishing their D (Rhino’s role).

This, I can't believe how much non coverage there is on this today. That was a dirty, dirty play that can't just be let go.

Dallas made adjustments and responded in game 2. Does Calgary in game 3? That's the million dollar question.

This is exactly it imo. Same as last series against Winnipeg. Maurice made adjustments for game 2 and they came out and took the game to Calgary. For game 3, Ward and company did the same. They adapted and cruised the rest of the way.

Lets see how Calgary responds.

Sam Bennett tries a fancy pass coming out of the d-zone that ends up being turned over and back the other way. Didn't get the puck deep.

Dillon Dube has a chance to clear but doesn't do it well. Didn't get the puck out.

Bam, suddenly in the back of one's own net. Funny how that works, eh?
It sounds cliche when players always respond with “get pucks deep” but man is it true.

It's almost as if we're playing in a close playoff series where teams push back, make adjustments, and create/lose momentum.

I can understand being pessimistic given our last three playoffs before this year (run roughshod by the Ducks in 2015, swept by the Ducks in 2017, and left in the dust by the Avs last year), but teams make adjustments and usually respond with better play. Obviously that's the hope for us tonight.

Heck, it's been less than two weeks since we lost Game 2 against Winnipeg, and people were ready to write the team off then. Lots can happen in the playoffs -- that's why they play the games.

GFG!

Calgary adjusted their pace and started forechecking like monsters in both the neutral and ozone. It's incredibly exhausting but it turned the tide of the game. The guys will need to lay it all on the line. I hope they know that.

4-3 in 3rd OT. This is gonna be a long night peeps!

Huuuuuuge two points tonight!

I disagree that this game means the series. But I think our teams response is of vital importance. Do they make adjustments? Does the energy from the Bennett line infect anyone else? Can Gaudreau gain some confidence and make some plays?

It’s obvious to me that Dallas can be beat. In spite of the Flames being badly outplayed for 99% of the game, we scored four goals. I think that is telling.

Go Flames, we stole one on the road, now let’s win our “home” games, control matchups, etc.

We’ve had too many passengers in this series.

4-3. With the boys in red gaining the 4-1 lead and making us sweat it late.

A definite learning experience for both of them. Hopefully they respond well.

Gotta give BSD his first game.

If he falters, then it’ll be easy to switch back to Talbot.

Didn't you hold a funeral for the Flames after the Game 2 loss in Winnipeg? How did that turn out?

I get writing everything off as soon as an ounce of adversity hits is a nice self-preservation method if things do end up going badly, but lots of hockey left.

Game 2 loss? Tkachuk out? That's hockey. Dallas isn't special, still anyone's game yet.

Gaudreau to me looks like a player that peaked early, but was utterly exposed in the Avs series and now teams know how to neutralize him. He was pretty average during the regular season, and now he's a net negative for the team again in the playoffs. The only way I can see him having any future success is on a team with enough star power up front who can give him sheltered minutes, he is just not a first line player. Hopefully Treliving can find someone to bite and give him a decent return in an offseason trade

And as part of that, his weakness is has been so far an inability to adjust. He still tries the same things that he tried early in his career - but now teams know his tendencies
Elite players are able to re-adjust ad defenses adjust to them.
Doesn't seem Johnny can do that.
I think the return for him is going to be underwhelming but it still should happen.

Any news on Tkachuk yet?

If there's a time to give BSD a chance to step in and steal the 1A role back, this is it. Put it in his hands and see if he can be the level of goalie capable of backstopping a run.
