Man, the justification for switching to black (all of page 4’s tripe) sounded as desperate and pathetic in trying to convince themselves then, as it does now.

Trotting out cherry picked academic studies and then backup that up by saying the 1978 Canucks and 1980 Pens gained 7 spots in league penalty minutes when going to black? Comical.
Plain and simple, it was BFSB because of lazy design, moving away from tradition for no real reason other then and a marketing team which had no other ideas. Claiming being progressive and all the other BS and the bottom of the second column on the page, while in another breath reminding everyone that it’s ok because other teams are also black means the Flames are in good company, is more double speak and contradiction.
