This is a year where if we can get in we could end up in a western conference final with the playing field so level. Also the thought of a Calgary/Edmonton playoff series is so tempting, I’ve never experienced that in my life.

Losing this game would be the second most embarassing loss of the weekend in the NHL

Worst case scenario I guess. Tre sits on his hands if the Flames win, or worse, spends assets to fill the gaps until guys get healthy. Then the team doesn't make the playoffs at the end anyway. I don't believe he will make a big trade unless there is a plan for the future of the club.
I think he's aware of the problems this team has, and surprisingly, it's mostly to do with the defense. He's specifically said that the club has not had as much offense from the d-men this year and that was a huge factor in their success last year. I honestly think the Brodie for Barrie talk has merit, so long as they can work out an extension for Barrie. Not sure if it's a good move or not.

Prediction... Mid game trade: Valimaki (or eat bread), Dube and a protected 1st for Larkin
Larkin changes jerseys mid game and becomes the first player ever to score a natural hatrick when scoring the only goals for 2 teams in one game...FLAMES WIN 2-1!!

Well, Boston did allow NINE GOALS yesterday to the Vancouver Canucks. There was plenty of embarrassment to be had.

This has the makings of a trap game all over it. I will be extremely let down if the team loses this one. Bracing myself for the worst.

I think we will win tonight
Also - had we held on to beat the Bruins on Friday - we would lose tonight
The way it is this year
Go Flames

Though if we had managed to hold on and beat Boston, they would have beat Vancouver for us, giving us a better chance in Boston on Tuesday.
The Butterfly Effect of Flames hockey.

Is it me or is every game with the flames a trap game these days?
First game of a road trip - trap
Last game of road trip - trap
First game home after a road trip - trap
Play a bottom feeder - trap
Game before a key match up - trap
Game after a big win - trap
Afternoon game - trap
Game before trade deadline - trap
3rd Thursday of the month - trap
Someone gets a new haircut - trap
Im going with this feels like a dominant win so we can be properly let down later in the week.

12 of the next 14 games for the flames are against playoff or playoff hunt teams.
If the flames can't show up today, then I frankly hope they are no shows for the rest of the year.

Prediction time! It's a doozy here gang..
I predict that IF the Calgary Flames score six goals tonight they will win the game!
But! If they score less than 6 goals they will lose the game!
So score 6 goals!

DET have good players and will be a good challenge. CGY also have very good players throughout the lineup - tremendous depth and have shown the ability to get a lot of offence everywhere. CGY is a great team when they play to their strengths: hard, competitive all over the ice, smart, quick passing and making plays.

We are going to play to the level of our opponent like always but hopefully we can squeak out a win. I'll say 4-3 Flames

Detroit wins 4-0.
We haven't been shutout for a few games. We're due.
