Maybe the coaching staff acknowledges the need for a defensive presence with Monahan and Gaudreau. Maybe Ward has seen enough of Reider cycling between centre and wing on the 4the line, while getting some matchups, that he trusts him in that role.
His speed on the forecheck could be useful.

Bennett Backlumd and Frolik ised to be a good line for the year before Chucky showed up. Maybe itll reignite all 3.

It would be nice if third period Bennett was in the game for the entire evening. The guy shows flashes like that but has never really put together a 10-15 game stretch.

If last games Bennett would show up like that all season long he would be a 70 point physical forward.
It almost makes me angry how good he looks in the playoffs and when he is engaged.

It will not happen tonight but if there are a stretch of games before the Flames pick up a top six forward with the Frolik space I hope they bring up czarnik and give him a shot with Monahan and Gaudreau. Move rieder to the Backlund line and keep the rest the same.

I would add a period instead. This team recently takes 50 minutes to realize there is a hockey game going. Taking out 20 minutes would give them no chance.
