4 more years.
He needs to be the third line C who can play 2nd pp at times and 2nd pk.
As Treliving tried to upgrade both before and since last year's playoff power outage,we need a better 2nd line.
17 games without a goal doesn't cut it for the role he has,as a 2c or a winger on the top line.

Some of you guys are overreacting.

Things just went south after pitt scored after the brodie penalty just expired. They built off that and the rest is history. I don't quite get the call on Brodie, you see players jump on and off like that all the time.

I'm kind of leaning toward swapping Backlund and Mangiapane. Having Backlund on Lindholms wing, might allow Lindholm to worry less about the defensive side and take that extra step towards the net.
I would then move Bennett to Monahan's wing, where he doesn't have to dance around with the puck and lose it, he just has to be a garbage man on rebounds. It would also make that line significantly bigger, which is what Johnny needs.
So basically a shuffling of the RW.
Who is the odd man out? Dube or Mangiapane? Maybe neither, and Lucic moves to the fourth.

As much as I agree everyone needs to chill a bit I think it was more Flames didnt have finish then Jarry stealing the show.

Also Mangipane needs to come off that line. I think all the missed opportunities is getting to the others.

Mangipane is not a top line forward. Ideally this team needs 2 top 6 wingers/Centre. Clearly we find out they were deep on Hall and are now interested in Kovalchuk so clearly Treliving is trying to add that piece.
Tkachuk-Lindholm-X
Gaudreau-Monahan-X

On one hand, the Flames haven't been playing nearly as good under Geoff Ward as their record would indicate so these 2 games were kind of deserving.
On the other hand, like I said, this was arguably their best or 2nd best game under Ward so we did deserve a better fate tonight which makes the loss much more frustrating.

GOAT!

Why Maniapane on the top line instead of Dube, anyway? I mean, it's not like Mangiapane or Dube are top-line players, but I would have slotted Dube there of the two options.

Kyle Rehman and Garret Rank. I’m calling you out!! That was a pitiful performance by you two. You were awful!! I’m sure you get a 2 thumbs up from any Pittsburgh fans though!!

The biggest difference was Jarry was better than Talbot. I don’t dig the strategy though. The distributed scoring thing works if they can hold their own 5-5 and capitalize on special teams. I don’t think a PP unit of Ryan Backlund and Lucic can ever get that done.

Ward and the team have mentioned they want to play four lines and I generally agree with that. But not when you're down. Play the guys who are making things happen and are buzzing.
Gaudreau was good in this game - he should've had more than 15 min IMO. Same with Monahan.
We've seen both coaching styles recently. A couple of guys would shorten the bench and another would roll lines. Coaches need to exploit lineups when called for. If you're up and in control of the game let it roll. But if you're chasing then look for every advantage to get back in control.

The PP lines NEED to be switched up. PP1 has all of the good players, PP2 is just the leftovers.

How about Dube on 1st and Bennett on 2nd. Fill in where necessary.
Also, isn't Kovalchuk being bought out and going back to Russia?
edit : just saw the other thread. huh
