It allows Sportsnet to run a triple-header today/tonight with 2 all-Canadian match-ups on HNIC and all 7 Canadian teams are in action and available either on CBC or the main Sportsnet channel.

Sportsnet in the last two seasons has changed the Saturday scheduling at the request of the Habs and Senators so they play at 1700h Mountain when they play in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, just like the stinkin' Leafs. Smart decision to have all games on the main Sportsnet channel.



It is good to see there are two western games at 2000h, but, it would have been better to have three games in that time slot. The early time slot has that regularly and even four games on occasion.


The seven canadian teams playing is awesome when they are all nationally televised on Saturday. This was not done two weeks ago or on October 12.

It was only three weeks ago that the Blues at Flames was played at 2000h/8:00 pm. For the game two weeks ago in Phoenix, it was a matinee because the Flames were playing the next day in Las Vegas. The matinee start was to allow more rest. Last week, the Flames were in Philadelphia.

Sens coach DJ Smith was the assistant coach in Windsor when Akim Aliu refused to participate in the hazing ritual of having 4 rookies stand naked in the bus washroom on the way back from a road game. I hope the Flames beat Smith 9-1 tonight.
