I am in Vegas right now and I am tempted to go to the VGK and Sharks game and hope to see a mid 70's style blood bath.

I love all the little quirks in that picture relevant to the individuals and their teams. And then there’s Mcdavid sitting next to the Oilers Gretzky jersey. Because even in promotional cartoons the oilers are living in the past.

I've always been somewhat curious as to the odds on these, so for ####s and giggles I thought I would take a look.

Last year, 7.5% of the games went to a SO. If we use that as the likelihood for this year, and give the other games a 50/50 coin toss, the odds of you winning this ticket are more than 850 to 1.

Even if we use the older, historical numbers for SOs happening 13.5% of the time, that still gives us 219 to 1.

Either way, your payout of about 70 to 1 is, well, let's call it a rather large bid-ask spread.

(I know, it's entertainment, I was just curious)

Could just be he liked the Skittles thing better than anything he could come up with for Gio.

Great building to watch a game in if you can get a ticket for a decent price

off topic, but I am headed to Vegas next weekend when the Flames are there. Is stubhub the best place to look for tickets?

I assume with sportselect when he says SO he means tie. If you pick tie it just has to go to overtime for you to win the pick.

Strictly my personal preference but there are just too many other fun things to do in Vegas before I'd spend 3 hours watching a hockey game between two teams I don't care about. I'd feel very differently if the Flames were playing.

I would definitely go. Heated rivalry and season opener, NHL quality hockey. As a fan of the sport what’s not to love? The fact that both teams are in the same division and were just the top competitors with the Flames for top in the division makes he game even more relevant.
