I reached out to him as well, and sent my picture, and he asked me if I was set on the tribal look that I had. When I said I would like to see what he would do, he told me he'd come back with a drawing.

To each their own, but are you sure about this whole thing Captain? An older dude getting a tattoo (especially tribal!) to try to make themselves feel young again is like some 50 year old woman injecting her face with a bucket of botox. Neither of you will fool anyone, and there will be mocking.
There's nothing wrong with growing old, happens to the best of us. Better to age like Paul Newman or Clint Eastwood, than Vince Neil.

I get it table 5, and part of me is saying that, but I've wanted to do this for a while, And a little Vince Neal for me might not be a bad thing, I've become a little stale, and the Dragon concept has a bit of meaning for me as well.

A tattoo won't make your life more interesting.
Maybe sit with someone and develop a tattoo with the artist over some time. Stick with the general concept, but don't be married to a design.
On tribal. Tattooing may be "trendier" than it used to be, but tribal was a straight up fad.
edit: well I guess that second post kind of addresses two of the things I said lol

Just join a seniors' swing club if you want to be more like Vince Neil.

This past summer I completed a 1/2 sleeve project that took a year from the first time I emailed my artist to the end of my last session. Prior to that I’d been mulling over the scale/style/theme I decided upon for a good 5-6 years, and I spent a good 3-4 months short listing & emailing local artist who suited the style I wanted.
I did this at the age of 36/37 as I’m established in my career, comfortable with what the impact would be, and it just took me this long to really nail down what I wanted at the end of the day.
I guess my point here is tattoos can (and probably should be) an exercise in patience, it’s not the same as splurging on a leather jacket that you can bury in the closet in 6-18 months time. Or a dress shirt you purchase on vacation but in practice is ill suited for our climate.
Or to put this another way... think about the art you’re considering and picture it on a t-shirt. How would you feel running into your boss/grandma/client at the grocery story with that shirt on?

The only real tattoo is a prison tattoo.

I think the only suitable one for CC is a full body Darth Maul tattoo. Or at least his head. We can talk about horn implants sometime down the road.

Really "an older dude getting a tatoo?" Seriously, to each there own, ink IMO, can be absolutely elegant. Polynesian tats are incredible. Just don't go an put it on your face and neck!, lol
I have dogtags of my family on my back and now plan to expand that to include my old unit and my military profession and the my lifetime profession. I also want some sort of Polynesian are done as well.
ink, is ink, doesn't matter how old you are.
just an opinon from another 50yr old.
