Mike Smith is going to get absolutely torched this year, without the best defenseman in the league in front of him.

Also the Winnipeg jets don’t make the playoffs.

Huberdeau/Barkov wont be 90 pt players again and regress to 70-80pt(I hope I'm wrong about Barkov as I have him as a keeper in 2 fantasy keeper leagues)
Mark Stone doesnt crack 0.6 ppg on his new team.

I think a lot of people are mesmerized by the playoffs and overlook the sheer number of times the team had to score their way out of Mike Smith's screwups and muffins.

If they ever erect a statue to Mike Smith it'll be him on his knees with his head thrown back.

Hes the only goalie that you can shoot the puck directly at and still somehow manage to score.

I think theres a difference between 'regression' and 'flop.'

I'm going to say Jacob Trouba is going to be a flop in NYC. He doesn't have near the same team support to make him look good as he did in Winnipeg, and while he's a good player, he's not an amazing player. I get the sense he will be exposed a little on a bad team.

He will miss Morrissey.. Sort of like Gio playing with Hamilton instead of Brodie

Backlund has had 45+ points four years in a row. Last year he did it despite only two powerplay points, even though he has had as many as sixteen in other years. Two years ago he did with some career-worst puck luck. Four years ago he did it with Colborne and 19yo Bennett.

I'd take the over 50 for Backlund next year.
