I honestly see 625 goals and 675 assists from this player.

Pretty crazy to think he and Rasmus Andersson have played together since junior, and here we are all these years later and both are top players on our team, one of the best in the league at the moment. You look back at those development camp rosters from like 2016 or whenever and most of those guys never made it to the show. Well done to the Barrie Colts, the Flames scouts and development staff, and above all both players for putting in the hard work.

I really hope he loves playing in Calgary. Hope he signs a reasonable long term deal.

Wet blanket time.

I’m tempering my expectations until he starts getting some assists. A true high end player will get some of those even by accident.

He brings other intangibles like tenacity of course, and that can’t be overlooked.

I think the helpers will come for Mangiapane and I’m blown away at the overall play of him so far. I think adding a true blue top 6 into the fold would go a long way to getting some apples for him.

How much do you think the Cross-Check from Chara hurt last night? I cant even imagine. Took it like a champ too. Guy is tough as nails.

We can only hope. Love or hate Marchand, he's way over point per game since the 2016 season and a playoff beast. If Mange progresses like that we won the lottery.

Aside from the really stupid things it’s hard for me to hate him. Playoff warrior and can put his money where his mouth is. What he did against the nucks as a rookie in the playoffs made me a forever fan, absolutely a player you despise to play against but if he’s on the side your rooting for a clear fan favourite. If Mangiapane turns into half of Marchand that’s beyond a win!

Remember when Mangiapane held out for a few thousand more and the Flames shut that down cause he had no leverage? Andrew remembers....

Unpopular opinion but I still see him as a 20 goal 50 point player.

Love Mangiapane and what he's done the last little while but I don't think I've seen a player get more fortunate bounces than Mangiapane has last 50 games.

He probably deserved those bounces as well as I thought he was getting extremely unlucky when he was going 10 games without getting a point

Still see him as a $5 million-$5.5 million 50 point player.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

exactly what I think

he's been on a heater, which is awesome, but I find it difficult to imagine that he is a 40-50 goal scorer

I mean, I hope so, but we'll see I guess

At this rate he could get 40 goals and 10 assists. So I guess everyone would at least the ppl who said 50 points wouldn't be wrong. I would put the over /under at 35g/55p

At this rate?

At this rate he puts up 67 goals and 10 assists for 77 points.

At an almost half reduced production rate he puts up 35 goals.

Mangiapane in his last 82GP (regular season) has:

36 goals
13 assists
49 points

This isn't an extrapolation of any sort. It's just his last 82 games. He simply needs to play at the level he played at the last two years for the rest of the year and he will do it again. And most would agree that Sutter's systems are going to get him better scoring opportunities than, say, Geoff Ward's systems.

Well if that means we get a 36 goal scorer for a 5.5M dollar salary because he still only put up a Backlund-esque point total then I'm for it.

Whether he’s getting lucky bounces so far or not, he’s still a solid player who works hard and any team would like to have a player like him on their roster.
