My thoughts:

Stanley Cup Banner, no question.

If you lose in the final then Conference Champions.

Where there isn't a true divisional playoff then it's reasonable to have the Division Champions.

I also think Presidents Trophy banner is acceptable.

But you can't cross over and award playoff banners to regular season accomplishments.

Default Do the Flames put up a banner?

Division banners are dumb. Stanley cup, President’s, and conference playoff champs, sure.

You know, things they actually award trophies for.

I just wish they’d pick a consistent graphic style for these banners.

Here's a question. Is it ok for them to redo the banners so they are all consistent or do you stick with the original one raised?

I expect them to redo all the banners in retro styling along with 2 and 25 next year, or when they move buildings

Massive massive achievement for the Flames organization to lock down all of the western conference.

I have lofty hopes of a big push into round 2 or 3 of the playoffs this year but even if thay didn't happen, I'd still be incredibly happy with the season. These are the step teams take to becoming perennial contenders, just not a one and done team like the 04 flames or 06 Oilers.

Amazing year.

It’s done.

Absolutely serious and I am aware of the meaning of 99%. That’s a little condescending. It’s a stance based on principal, not threshold percentage chances.

PS from a statistical perspective, your Monte Carlo example is inaccurately presented

One for the division. One more if we go to the finals, and one more for the win. IMO if you win the cup you can raise as many banners as you want. But limit it to one for the regular season. The Oilers gets mocked for raising banners for winning an internet poll and selling out hillbilly musicians. Raising a division banner isn’t Oilerish and that argument is weak. Every team does that, and why not?

Oilers are raising a "meaningful games in the last month of the season banner"

Division banner should be for winning 2 rounds.

Flames dont have an 88 division banner but have a 2006 one

Winning a regular season award should be celebrated....once.

Since we don't rank 1-8 then I would put the division championship banner up. If was 1-8 I'd do conference and no division.

Playoffs you can do one stanley cup and if you lose, conference.

Looking at post 27 in this thread, isn’t the Smyth div. banner 88/89?

Yes, but when they won the divisional playoff round. Not the regular season.
