Columbus is the team in the east most likely to give Tampa a run for their money.
This team was playing below their potential all year and now they're loading up. It's a very well built team. Worlds best goalie. Solid defense and now that offense looks stacked as well.

Also anyone wondering how Ottawa had the Flames 7th, the Flames traded it to them for Nick Shore last year.

Haha that would be neat to see. Stone and other pieces for Panarin and other pieces

This puts Ottawa with five 1st's & five 2nd's over the next three drafts. (*potentially)

I guess I'm just not as big on 2nd round picks as most people - would rather have the NHL player

It is certainly not a “gimme” that Washington would win that series. I like CBJ in that matchup.

Holy crap Columbus is going all in. Weird season to do so but if you can re-sign 2 of the 4 guys even, then it's not nearly as bad as it could've been.

It’s not that weird. They have never won a playoff series.

Dzingel is a guy I'd worry is getting a Chaisson style stat bump from being on a terrible team and getting PP time and playing on higher lines than he ever would on a good team.

His Duchene trade pointed at this to me too.

Dzingleberry is Spooner 2.0 glad we didn't waste anything on him

You may definitely be right.. that being said, he has been really good the few times I have watched him. Very skilled.

Spooner had 13 goals four seasons ago which is his highest. Dzingel scored 14 goals 3 years ago and 20+ goals the last two seasons.
What a ridiculous comparison.

seems like Columbus will keep Panarin and Bob and push all their chips in at this point...
decent gamble too, with Dzingle being an OSU Buckeye alum, there's a solid shot of re-signing him to play in CBus.

A few years back we were dancing in the streets after trading Glencross for a 2nd and 3rd round pick (a trade which bombed for the Caps btw). This is a good return for a UFA forward.

Either Duchene or the 2020 1st will be left over. I think I would prefer to keep the pick over Duchene. At least The Blue Jackets will have a lot of cap space to work with.
