No chance. I'd never follow the team out of here, this city is the only reason I'm a fan. I'd casually watch more Flames games I guess.
I actually stopped watching hockey as a kid from 1996 to 2000.. Became a Hockey fan in April 2000 when my mom's snowbird boyfriend took me to America West for a Coyotes/Avs playoff game. I was a die hard Flames fan thanks to the Flames Forever campaign in 2000-2007ish when I just wanted to support the local team but It was always my plan to move down here after college and did so in 2009. Even being in Calgary, I watched as many Coyotes games as Flames games via Center Ice.
Yotes leave, the next thing to me would be watching Flames games. But to be honest. My hockey/nhl watching and fandom is extremely casual these days. I love the game but I'm just not invested into results as much. The 2009-2019 Coyotes ownership nonsense is definitely taking it's toll personally.
If the Coyotes do get a rink closer to Gilbert I'd invest more emotionally in the team. If they leave it'll suck big time but I have a lot to keep me occupied in AZ
