When I first saw that Buddy was recalled, I thought at least Johnny will have a good friend up here over the holidays. Why not give him a shot just like everyone else.

It is nice to see the Flames having a plethora of possible call-ups for the bottom 2 lines.
Quine, Lomberg, Dube, Foo, Lazar, Robinson, Peluso, Rychel, Mangiapane and maybe even add Graovac to that list. Lots of different sizes, skill-sets and differing strengths/roles to provide the Flames with replacement players. Some of course have much higher upsides than others, but nice to have a decent amount of replacement level players in the organization when in the past it hasn't quite been this way.
I am also of the opinion that Lazar is just being cooked in the AHL as he should have been to start his career. Lazar is big enough, fast enough, defensively capable enough, and made a heck of a forechecker in his NHL time. If he can just gain a bit of confidence offensively, he can become a valuable depth player for the organization.

And gosh darnit, people like him!

Czarnik looks like Nigel Dawes without the finish.
No he doesn't. Czarnik has a better shot, better wheels, and is not a turnover machine along the boards. I know he has not grabbed the bull by the horns but he is not Nigel Dawes bad.

Nigel Dawes had 14 goals and 32 points in his 66 games with the Flames. Czarnik will be lucky to hit that production for his career. He's very ineffective.

I tend to agree with this.
I REALLY want to like Czarnik. He's just not very good.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts Czarnik will beat those totals if he ever gets the ice time Dawes did. Dawes was a nightmare, I really would love to forget her ever played here.
My favourite Nigel Dawes moment was when he missed the shootout attempt against the Islanders in pre-season to set up Fleury's famous comeback OT winner.

#Flames have returned RW Buddy Robinson to AHL Stockton. Johnny Gaudreau's childhood pal was up as insurance in case Bennett/Neal couldn't play last night. Both did.
