Not liking Ryan on the 2nd line. Would rather even Quine play ahead of Ryan.
It would take another forward injury or two before I'd be willing to move Ryan off the 4th line centre.

I don't get the hate for Ryan, it's not like he's getting outperformed by our other centers not named Monahan and Lindholm. Also, how can you justify Quine playing ahead of Ryan? Cuz he scored 1 goal two games ago?

Because Ryan's the 2nd biggest offensive black hole in this lineup (only Hathaway's worse) and his really good defense doesn't justify him playing further up. And I believe Quine has more offensive potential than Ryan.
Unless or until another forward injury occurs, Ryan should get the Stajan role of last year and not much more than that.

But then he made a nice save right after to keep it tied and never let in another goal.
I'm ok with either goalie letting in a bad goal if they make up for it later on in the game and the Flames win.

Quine is not even an NHL player. Besides, I think it is abundantly clear by now that the coaches are highly invested in having at least one defensive "conscience" on every line.

I don't like Ryan's offensive game at all. It's quite bad, and even his really good defense isn't a good enough reason for me to move him off the 4th line yet. I think even Quine has more offensive upside, so that's why I'd even have him ahead of Ryan.
Not comfortable with giving Ryan much more than last year's Stajan role until another forward injury happens.

Yeah. So much more balanced. Lindholm still gets PP time with the big boys. And whether it's Czarnik or Bennett on 2, it's better than what we have now IMO.

Wouldn't mind it if Neal was playing decent hockey. I think he needs a couple games in the press box though. Turns puck over in neutral zone every time he gets it.

Flyers love giving up goals. Their goaltending is sub-par and many of their defencemen are AHL calibre at defending.

These next few games are a great opportunity for the Flames to pad their lead in the Pacific and get themselves back into 1st in the West, as they'll be playing some pretty bad/mediocre teams. If they can get at least 6/8 points over these next 4 games, they'll be in good shape. These are the kinds of games they need to take advantage of if they want to continue to be a top team.

Maybe it goes deeper than a 31 game sample size?
